Not much is known about this 1930s Indiana Sport-Avion baseball card of Babe Ruth. In fact, it appears people can’t even agree on the year of issue. In our research, we have seen all years between 1934 through 1937. With the image of Ruth at bat in front of a large Japanese crowd, the card was certainly issued after the momentous 1934 Tour of Japan, likely in 1936 or 1937. According to the French bio on the reverse of this approximately 2.5 x 3" card, Ruth was playing for the crowd of 65,000, and he likely did not disappoint. This card is NO. 60 is a series of 136, and is one of two baseball images. It presents well but has some moderate wear plus some paper loss on the reverse, technically grading FAIR to GOOD. No matter the condition, this card is extremely rare and provides a tremendous opportunity to add to your Babe Ruth card collection. Fair to Good overall.
