10 Nostalgic Cleveland Indians Items in the Lelands 2018 Invitational Auction

Among the hundreds of items up for bidding via Lelands 2018 Invitational Auction are 10 nostalgic Cleveland Indians pieces all dating more than 60 years. Some go back more than 100 years.

Indians folk art sign circle 1948

This hand-painted Cleveland Indians sign (circa 1948, the year the team last won the World Series) features Chief Wahoo and is one of only two known to exist. This was taken off the side of a paddle boat from a Cleveland-area amusement park and is on particle board with acrylic paint.

1957 signed baseball

This 1957 baseball is signed by Indians greats including Rocky Colavito, Mel Harder, Herb Score and others, including rookie Roger Maris.

1911 Cleveland Naps magazine cover

The 1911 rare proof cover for Baseball Magazine features stars Nap Lajoie, Joe Jackson and Cy Young riding in an old trolley. The art is by and from the collection of the magazine's cover artist Gerrit Beneker, a master illustrator who designed covers for many publications in the early 20th century.
