1930's Flip The Frog Automaton

1930's Flip The Frog Automaton

Fabulous figural of this endearing character created by the man who first drew Walt Disney and Walt's old "partner," UB Iwerks. Store display was used in a toy store in Germany in the 1930s. Composition with a green felt overlay, he is exceptional. When plugged in his eyes roll, he struts, and plays his trademark saxophone. Sax itself is a wonderful composition with original silver paint. Wears cloth vest, mouth painted with charming red lips, all handpainted and very "Flip." He uses European current but we have added a transformer to make him go. His movements are a bit sluggish but he works and can be tinkered with. Restoration to some of the felt, his leg is a bit cracked, but overall very good condition. Stands 21" tall, which we guess is life-size (if Flip had ever lived).
