1932 Lou Gehrig Game Used Hanna Bat Rite Side Written Bat

1932 Lou Gehrig Game Used Hanna Bat Rite Side Written Bat

36" Burke Batrite by Hanna Manufacturing Company was used by the Iron Horse for the 1932 season. Written on the side is the vintage grease pencil notation, "7-29-32, H.L. Gehrig" indicating it was returned to the factory by Gehrig after he used it. The Pride of the Yankees batted .349 that season and belted 34 home runs. Bat is cracked from iron use and is stamped on the barrel, "Beaver Driver, Gehrig, Steel Temper - TA 116" with the "bat" logo further down and "July 15, 1930" stamped into the knob. A choice example of this rare bat type from one of the most loved Yankee Hall of Famers of all time. It is universally known among bat collecting circles that Gehrig used these type of bats and there are known photos known of him brandishing Hanna bats. The bat is perfectly suited to Gehrig’s known bat specs, weighing 33.5 ounces. From the Charlie Sheen Collection.
