1946 Alejandro Oms Funeral Program

Oms, centerfielder of the Eastern Colored League's Cuban Stars in the '20s and the Negro National League's New York Cubans in the '30s, was beloved back home where he excelled in the Cuban league with his hometown Santa Clara team. His death on November 9, 1946 brought out the town's Mayor and delegates from 5 teams, as noted on this funeral program hailing him in Spanish as a "distinguished citizen and a brilliant athlete". Piece is VG with minor staining.
