1947 Spruce Goose Used in LIFE Magazine by J.R. Eyerman

This amazing Type I 8x10" image spanned the pages of "Life Magazine" on December 8th, 1947. It has Life usage on verso, including Time Inc and 1947 date stamp, and pictures one of the most popular and beloved planes in aviation history; the Hughes H-4 Hercules (also known as the "Spruce Goose") was a prototype heavy strategic airlift military transport aircraft designed and built by Howard Hughes. The Hercules is the largest flying boat ever built and has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in history. Condition is EX.
