This major tome was written in 2002 by Fujio Nakazawa of the Japan Hall of Fame, and is one of his great contributions to Japanese baseball literature; in fact, this beautiful volume may be his best work. The first 65 pages (Japanese text) contain a summary of the first 80 years of Japanese baseball. They are followed by 78 pages of photos, including three foldout pages. In total, there are more than 300 vintage photos, most of which have never been seen elsewhere. Many of the photos contain facsimile autographs, and the subjects include Ty Cobb in Japan, Babe Ruth during the 1934 U.S. All Star Tour of Japan, Victor Starffin. Eiji Sawamura, and many team and game action shots. These photos are of high quality and must be seen to be believed. Interestingly, the photo pages are not back to back. Instead, each page is printed on its own blank-backed sheet of paper. Therefore, the image could be removed without damaging any others and used for display. Hence, many of these books were cut up and it is quite tough to find it unscathed such as this one. In EX condition.
