1958 Bill Doggett Cash Box Music Award

1958 Bill Doggett Cash Box Music Award

Impressive award “Presented In Behalf of the Automatic Music Industry of America To Bill Doggett Best R&B Instrumentalist 1958”. Obtained from the littler known local auction of the Doggett Estate; it is magnificent! An “Oscar” type leading man holds a record reading “The Cash Box Award”. He is gold plated and stands on a solid marble base. 18” tall and in excellent condition. “Cash Box” is one of the earliest and most significant music awards of the modern era. Every serious collector of music and entertainment awards should own one. Especially from Bill Doggett, who’s 1956 instrumental hit, Honky Tonk, helped usher in the era of rock ‘n’ roll.
