1965-66 Rogers Hornsby Award Presented to Walter Alston

Alston played almost every position as a minor leaguer, struck out in his only at-bat in the majors, but his success as a manager for the Brooklyn Dodgers got him into the Hall of Fame. Alston carried out 23 consecutive one-year contracts with the Dodgers. Rogers Hornsby Award presented to him in recognition of his accomplishments after two Pennant winning seasons in ’65 & ‘66. Stainless steel has engraved onto lid: “Rogers Hornsby Award to Walter Alston for Leading your Dodgers to the World Championship 1-25-66 Houston Chapter BBWAA”. Lid opens to reveal 6 wooden compartments. Excellent condition.
