John William "Long John" Baldry was an English and Canadian blues singer. He sang with many British musicians, including Rod Stewart and Elton John, who featured in bands led by Baldry in the '60s. He enjoyed pop success in the UK where “Let the Heartaches Begin” reached No. 1 in 1967 and in Australia where his duet with Kathi McDonald “You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" reached No. 2 in 1980. This club poster is from the concert played by Long John Baldry at the Ricky-Tick on Friday, June 9th 1965. The Ricky-Tick was an influential '60s rhythm & blues club in Windsor, Berkshire, England. It hosted many important acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Jimi Hendrix. The piece is linen backed and is in perfect condition. 32" x 22".
