They don't make 'em like Early Wynn anymore. "Burly Early" so relished the notion of pitching inside that he once said he'd knock down his grandmother if she dug in against him. Wynn wore these Twins pants when he was the Twins' pitching coach in 1967, three years after finishing off his 23-year Hall of Fame career with the Senators, Indians and White Sox by winning his 300th game with the Indians on July 13, 1963. The flannel pants have the "Wilson [size] 43" label inside the waistband, and "Wynn 67 Set 1" in blue cable stitch. On the back of the waitband is the name "Del Wilber" in black marker. Wilber, another Twins coach, evidently was given the pants after Wynn left the team. Wynn died in 2000 at age 79. Good use and a great item from a real baseball original.
