1969 Janis Joplin Vintage Mug Shot

1969 Janis Joplin Vintage Mug Shot

Dubious photo proves that Janis was not only a rock and roll icon, but also a social icon. In an incident that occurred during her Nov. 16, 1969 performance at Curtis Hixon Hall in Tampa, Florida, Joplin "peppered" the police with obscenities while they tried to control an unruly crowd, reportedly telling the police, "don't f--- with these people", among other things. She was very quietly arrested by Tampa Police after the show. Mugshot shows a displeased Janis Joplin in full body shot with the time, day and year visible by way of a clock and calendar on the wall behind her. Bust and profile shots to the right. Comes with the newspaper article from the Tampa Tribune printed the following day, regarding the incident. Photo is VG-EX.
