While Leary was a fugitive from the law after escaping from prison, Holding Together, a Fund for the Defense of Tim Leary, organized a benefit, Come Together, on May 11th 1970 at the Village Gate in New York. The invitation committee included John & Yoko, Allen Ginsberg, Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, James Coburn, Alan Douglas (Hendrix producer) as well as a who's who of the radical movement. Though not listed on the invite, the performers included Jim Hendrix, Grateful Dead, Johnny Winter and others. Made to resemble a subpoena. Purchased originally at an auction from Leary's estate, this was Timothy's personal invitation. Of course he didn't attend being a wanted man at the time. Included is the catalog from the original estate auction. NRMT.
