"El Presidente" won more games than any other Latin American pitcher, and became a legend in his native Nicaragua. Despite having less than 100 wins by the time he was 30 years old, Martinez pitched for 23 seasons, winning 26 games after the age of forty. On July 28, 1991, he tossed the 13th perfect game in major league history. Presented is his gray "road" jersey worn during final season in Baltimore. "Orioles" crosses the chest in cursive style, orange-on-black tackle twill above his number "30", while on the reverse "30" appears again. The nameplate was removed some time ago but could be retored. "Sand-Knit [size] 42" and "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Baltimore Orioles" tags rest on the front tail, "86 42" (year/size) and "D.Martinez 30" are embroidered to two individual plates on the inner back tail. Very nice use is evident throughout.
