This is a real occupational shaving mug for a baseball player that once had no name in regal gold. Interestingly, the name of "Honus Wagner" has been added in modern times most perfectly and almost impossible to spot the difference. Shaving mugs were used extensively at the turn of the century in barber shops across America. In many, a fitted shelf held personalized mugs of its patrons. Some of these mugs had the customized customer's name, and far fewer sported a hand painted illustration of the man's occupation; the rarer the occupation, the more valuable the mug today. Baseball mugs are among the best and known players are the creme de la creme. We sold Roger Bresnahan's own personal mug from his estate post auction in 2015 for $6,000. The crossed bats and ball ornamentation are 100% old and original. Quality ceramic with typical German import numbering on the bottom it measures 4" high and is in EX+ condition. Perfect to display next to your priceless T206 Honus Wagner baseball card or even lesser beings.
