Though he had an unspectacular nine-year career in the Majors with the Cleveland Naps, "Handsome" Harry Bemis is immortalized in this terrific offering from this very scarce regional postcard issue. This stunning real-photo postcard is from the 1905 Souvenir Post Card Shop of Cleveland series. These postcards feature pristine, Carl Horner-style portraits of Cleveland Naps players on the front. Each player's name and “SOUVENIR POST CARD SHOP OF CLEVELAND” are printed underneath the image, just above a blank space possibly used for a message. This is due to the reverse containing a “NOTHING BUT ADDRESS ON THIS SIDE” statement. Most examples which have been posted do have messages written in this space. However, while the 3.25x5.5" card had an intended use, this example is very clean, with nary a mark written either side. This post card is an extremely rare example from this scarce regional issue. Graded and encapsulated by PSA VG-EX 4.5, this is the ONLY example graded by PSA.
