Six years before the film "Bull Durham" catapulted the Carolina League Durham Bulls to worldwide fame, the high-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves finished in second place in the Southern Division with an 80-56 record. From that team, which produced few major league players outside of Pat Kelly, comes this box of team goodies. First off, there's a Westclox quartz pocket watch that was presented to team members. The gold timepiece comes on a chain and its cover has "1982 DURHAM BULLS" inscribed on the lid. It is NRMT and housed in its original box with instruction manual included. The XL-size jacket is a team issue (not a replica) from the early 1980s that features the team logo patch on the left breast and buttons down the front. There's an Onion Ring tag in the collar and shows nice use overall, including dirt stains and even wisps of hair along the back collar. The cap is also a pro model New Era and shows use. Since the successful release of the 1988 Kevin Costner-Susan Sarandon hit film, the Bulls have jumped to Triple-A status and just won the International League's Governor's Cup championship in September.
