Colossal collection of San Francisco Examiner Archive photos (900+). These date from the 1920's through the 1980's with 20% being from the 1920's through the 1930's, 35% being from the 1940's and 1950's, 25% from the 1960's and 20% from the 1970's and 1980's. Sizes range from 4" x 5" to 9" x 12" and conditions from GD to EX-MT with the majority VG-EX. Many still have the original caption sheets. The majority are entertainment related with many Hollywood studio PR images. There are also many sports related and current events of the time including military. Among the images is one from 1953 of President Eisenhower on the golf course, another from 1929 of Georgia Tech's Stumpy Thomason who fumbled the ball in the 1929 Rose Bowl that was recovered and returned the wrong way by Cal's Wrong Way Riegels. There is one from 1935 of the Cal Bear's Perry Thomas, and a great action shot from 1920 of "Leland" Stanford University's R.L. (Dink) Templeton participating in the high jump. Entertainment related include Jeanne Bates, Clause Rains, Charles Bateman, Robert Allen, Paul Lynde, Blanche Bates, Stanley Andrews, Stella Andrews, Noel Madison, Dennis Cole, Roy Emerson, Frank Elliott among many others. And to illustrate the great diversity of subject matter in this photo lot there is a 1928 shot of the king and queen of Uganda.
