The late fifties was a time rife with scandal in the world of professional boxing, and the scandal was led by none other than the czar of underworld boxing, Frank Carbo himself. This collection of wire photos range in size from 4.5 x 5.5” to 8 x 10”, 80% are the larger size and there are a few odd sized photos. The condition of the collection is G-15%, VG-70% and EX-15% due to some edge wear, creasing and age discoloration. The collection dates from the late 1950’s and most of the images date from the indictment and trial of Carbo which took place in 1959.
