In 1963, shoe designer Mabel Julianelli was waiting for a client at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City when she was approached by Salvadore Dali, who asked if he could sketch her. As her client arrived at that minute, all she could obtain was his autograph on the back of the St. Regis' Oak Room luncheon menu. The autograph, which is reportedly Dali's name one way and his profile with pointy chin if turned another, is signed and dated in pencil across the blank back of the menu - a work of art in and of itself. The signature rates 8/10 while the menu is VG.
