Jane’s Addiction Perry Farrell’s Personal Garments, Lyrics & Effects
Formed in 1986 when New York vocalist Perry (Bernstein) Farrell, and L.A. bassist Eric Avery, met through their mutual friend Jane. Their brand of “shock rock” XXX style punk is one-of-a-kind. The live show and videos promoted controversy and intensity. In 1991 Farrell also conceived the idea for the Lollapalooza tour, a large venue for alternative acts. The shock rocker even performed nude at the original line-ups final concert held in Hawaii. Perry’s eccentric style and artistic flavor is expressed here with this lot. We offer his trademark “Jane’s” vinyl rubber mini skirt, a leather white, well worn hiking boot, five pages of hand written lyrics for “Standing in the Shower”, “Thinking a Day Ahead”, “Poster of Patti”, “1 and 2”, & “The Poor” all signed by Perry at the top. Oddly there is a broken lampshade where he kept his collection of 7 personal backstage laminate passes on. There is a Jane’s Addiction nudie silkscreen frame (used for posters or shirts), a collection of misc. ephemera, including photographs (used for layouts), live shoots, contact sheets, & material used on LP’s. There is glass art, a handbill for the Roxy, promotional displays for Kettle Whistle, Kozik poster.
