Luis Tiant, Sr. Hand Painted Photograph

Luis Tiant, Sr. Hand Painted Photograph

Exquisite life-like painting of the Cuban baseball star. This Negro League standout was a star pitcher for the NY Cubans, who defeated Babe Ruth’s All Star team in 1935 [6-1 and 15-3]. Tiant was magnificent as he held Ruth to only one single. Tiant’s son was a reliable pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, using a similarly erratic pitching form, which was successful in striking out many batters. Mounted on wood to 10x14”.
