Throughout most of the decade of the 1970's, Muhammad Ali maintained his primary training facility at a compound in Deer Lake, PA. Despite being located in a remote area of central Pennsylvania, Ali's open workouts to the public were always heavily attended by visitors and local residents. The always-generous Ali gave out much of his equipment to visitors at the camp. When the camp closed in the early 1980's Ali presented the ring bell used during training to the Sheriff of Deer Lake, Jim Taylor. Presented here in its entirety is that very ring bell. Made by "Bevin", the bell measures 12,10" and is in fine working condition. It is brass with the original cord and handle. This terrific memento of Ali's training for fights with Frazier, Foreman, Spinks & others is offered with a letter of authenticity from Sheriff Taylor and the collector who purchased it from him. In his LOA (included), Sheriff Taylor noted what Ali told him when he presented him with the bell, "This bell called me more times than anyone!" Also comes with an LOA from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc.
