Nobles of The Mystic Shrine Document Signed by Clark Gable, Carole Lombard and Others (54)

Nobles of The Mystic Shrine Document Signed by Clark Gable, Carole Lombard and Others (54)

This document, dated June 9th, 1934 is signed by more than 50 of Hollywood's greatest names. The Nobles of the Mystic Shrine is a document written as an invitation to the Shriners to hold their (1935) 60th Imperial Council Session in Los Angeles, and states that they will be sure to make their visit as pleasurable as possible. The linen backed document measures 11" x 21" and is framed to an overall size of 13.5" x 23.5". The condition is VG due to the lower margin having been clipped and reattached in two places, some fading to about 20% of the signatures, minor age discoloration and crease marks. The document has been framed to help protect it and includes such Hollywood notables as Mae West, Stan Laurel, Barbara Stanwyck, Oliver Hardy and Bing Crosby to name a mere sampling, as well as two highly desirable signatures from hard to get Frank Morgan and Leslie Howard. The quality of the signatures varies with some clearly legible and vibrant, and others having faded to a point where they are a challenge to discern; 75% rate 7 or higher on a scale of 1 to 10 and 25% rate in the area of 5/6 due to fading. The lot includes an LOA.
