This sweet Ovation Acoustic / Electric guitar is a beautiful keepsake, a very personal piece of property from the legendary, Paul Simon. Used during his highly anticipated 1981 reunion concert with Art Garfunkel in Central Park. This was his personally owned guitar, which he left in his ex-wife's house (between 1984-86). According to her, this guitar is "the only alimony [she] received" since their marriage ended. That evening over 500,000 people gathered on the lawns for an event that has since become part of rock'n'roll history. The gorgeous design work on the guitar includes a stylish black finish and Abalone inlays on the neck, soundhole, and body. Made in 1981, serial #242129, model #6119. Excellent condition, in original case. It was subsequently given to her brother, who played the guitar. Included is a handwritten LOA from Paul Simon's ex-wife, Carrie Fisher. Also included is a paperback copy of The Paul Simon Companion by Luftig with a photo on the cover showing Paul Simon playing this guitar on stage.
