Jim Craig Auctions Off His Olympic Gold Medals, Game-Used Jerseys, And Other Memorabilia
A recent press conference occurred deep in the heart of the world’s media capital, and high above it, too. From the windows on the 34th floor of the Manhattan sky scraper, you can spot land marks such as Central Park to the north and Times Square and Statue of Liberty to the south. This heavenly space belongs to Rubenstein, the PR firm run by Howard and Steven Rubenstein whose hundreds of clients include masters of the universe like the NFL, NHL, and the New York Yankees.
The reporters were from the wire services, TV, and radio news stations, and the local tabloids waited to take their turns to interview U.S. Olympic royalty, Jim Craig, the gold-medal goalie for the 1980 team. Craig was on hand to promote the sale of his holy relics through an auction at Lelands, one of the nation's most venerable sports auction houses.
