Exceptional 1907 Earl Christy Sports Pieces (3)

Exceptional 1907 Earl Christy Sports Pieces (3)

These three exceptional porcelain pieces circa 1900 are signed by acclaimed illustrator F. Earl Christy and depict Ivy League athletes. The largest of these is a 10.5" pitcher sporting a Harvard baseball player and the university seal. There is a smaller mug with exactly the same drawings, as well as a 10" pitcher featuring a Columbia football player in stride, as well as the college seal. The Harvard pitcher has evidence of some repaired cracks at the top. The others are in EX shape. A native of Philadelphia, Christy was an esteemed painter whose work graced the covers of magazines and books.
