1928 Lou Gehrig Presentational Medal

First offered as part of "The Lou Gehrig Collection" in October, 2000. Sterling silver plaque reads, "This Is To Certify That Lou Gehrig Is An Honorary Life Member of Sacred Heart Athletic Club, Syracuse, NY." Below are the facsimile signatures of the president and secretary, with the date, "Oct. 13, 1928." Presented just four days after a victorious World Series, due in part to Gehrig's four home runs. Rests in original kid leather case with velvet pillow and snap front. Case is EX; medal is NRMT. Overall 2.5x1.75". A rare piece from the Lou Gehrig estate.
