1940s Negro League Pennants (3)

1940s Negro League Pennants (3)

Three great felt pennants of prominent Negro National League teams of the 1940s, the Homestead Grays, Philadelphia Stars and Newark Stars. The key to the Negro leagues' 40-year longevity was in creating a parallel universe using the same symbols and rituals as the white game, including pennants that kids would hang on their bedroom walls to honor their hometown heroes. The two red Grays and Eagles pennants are EX-MT, the black Stars' one VG with some soiling.
