1944 Vince DiMaggio Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Jersey

1944 Vince DiMaggio Pittsburgh Pirates Game Worn Jersey

The older brother of Hall of Fame outfielder Joe DiMaggio, Vince DiMaggio spent more than half his major league career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, during which time he donned this beautiful white home jersey. Featuring all original lettering and number, the sweater is in terrific shape yet shows decent use. On the front, "Pirates" is stitched in red on blue felt, while his number "9" in the same red-on-blue style adorns the back. The zipper-front is functional, however the tab is missing. There's a Goldsmith tag in the collar, as well as 44 (size), '44 (year), 1 (set) and "DiMaggio" sewn on the front tail. The stars and bars patch was removed from the left sleeve, but otherwise this is a near-perfect representation. DiMaggio was named to his second and final All-Star team the season he wore this jersey.
