1951 Johnny Mize Game Worn Jersey with Pants

1951 Johnny Mize Game Worn Jersey with Pants

All original vintage New York Yankees road uniform came straight off the back of The Big Cat in 1951! The jersey is one of the finest examples of a regular season gamer, exhibiting strong signs of vintage use with felt navy letters arched across the chest displaying “New York” and Mize’s number “36” on the verso. Collar tagging is “Spalding & Bros.” With “Dry Clean Only” and [size] “48” tags below. Blue embroidered, “J Mize 51” on the front left tail. Some “spotting” has occurred from rust which has rubbed into the fabric and the Spalding tag is partially torn away. The shirt's original 1951 patch has been removed. The matching 1951 uniform pants are not specifically Mize’s pants, and look to have been used by more than one player. There is an embroidered number, “10” on a small plate inside the waist with handwritten number, “27” in black marker also in the waist. Both articles show strong signs of use with some team repairs.
