1968 Atlanta Chiefs NASL Championship Ring

1968 Atlanta Chiefs NASL Championship Ring

They only existed for six seasons, but the Atlanta Chiefs of the North American Soccer League managed to win a championship in its second season, as well as defeat English team Manchester City, whose manager denigrated Atlanta's players as "Fourth Division Talent." This size 10 ring is made of 10 Karat gold by Balfour and was presented to Ray Bloomfield, the English striker and Chiefs star whose name is inside. The ring is in NRMT condition and reads: "NORTH AMERICAN SOCCER CHAMPIONS" on the face surrounding a pinkish gem. Both shanks read: "ATLANTA CHIEFS" and features the team logo. Although Atlanta was never home to any of the biggest stars in the NASL, the franchise did produce one of the most important figures in league history. Head Coach Phil Woosnam went from head coach to commissioner of the league. LOA
