Albert Einstein Letter
Einstein's theories on physics and math ushered in the nuclear age and reverberated beyond science, influencing modern culture from painting to poetry, yet he remained a humble man. After fleeing Germany when the Nazis took power, Einstein accepted an appointment at the new Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, N.J., a scholarly retreat created around him. This July 30, 1931 letter sent to a colleague in Portugal bears a neary invisible seal reading "A. Einstein, 112 Mercer Street, Princeton, New Jersey, USA" and a small grade-9 signature in black ink that, at any size, is rare indeed. Letter is typed in German and EX with several fold marks, tape affixed to one fold on the back, a piece torn off the upper left corner and a small pinhole on the right corner.
