Sandy Koufax Vintage Rookie Signed Wire Photo
The historical 8 x 10 wire photo of Sandy Koufax signing his rookie contract with his hometown Brooklyn Dodgers on 12-22-54. As part of this two component set, there is a yellow copy sheet which was used by the wire service as the photo caption. 20 year-old Koufax's photo features his signature in black ballpoint grading 8.5 out of 10. Included in the wire service caption are such things as Koufax pointing to his name in the starting lineup, his streak of fanning 34 batters in two consecutive games at the University of Cincinnati, and his $20,000 bonus baby contract. A very nice collectible for devotees of the lefty Brooklyn icon.
