Silvio Garcia New York Cubans Collection

Silvio Garcia New York Cubans Collection

A great Cuban player, Garcia played in the Negro leagues with the New York Cubans and in the Cuban and Mexican Leagues. Garcia's 1938 photo ID card from the Mexican League's Aguila team has a photo of him in uniform. His 1947 Negro League contract is signed by Garcia and Cubans owner Alex Pompez, said to be a onetime mobster in the Dutch Schultz gang. This is one of the very few Negro League contracts still around, and despite browning and other damage is an historical gem. Also included is Garcia's 1954 passport. LOA.
