Stable Door from Charles S. Howard's Ranch - Home of Seabiscuit

Stable Door from Charles S. Howard's Ranch - Home of Seabiscuit

Successful car salesman Charles S. Howard parlayed his fortune into the Purchase of Ridgewood Ranch in 1919. That was to become the home of famed thoroughbred champ Seabiscuit, and this barn door is an artifact of that very ranch. Metal framed and measuring 36x48", it bears a cherry red background with the farm's logo in white - a large triangle outlining an "H" in the middle. This piece originated from that California ranch and could possibly be from the stable of Seabiscuit himself as it was preserved, but we are unaware of the reason. There's some water damage at one end of the wood backing and there are minor scratches on the front but it is in Excellent condition and presents very nicely.
