1938 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Signed Baseball with Ruth
The closest the Babe ever got to his dream of managing in the Majors after his playing days was with the Dodgers when they hired him as a first base coach in 1938, largely an effort to draw fans to the ballpark. This fabulous signed sphere, an ONL (Frick) baseball with a Near Mint appearance proudly displays The Sultan of Swat’s fountain ink signature on the sweet spot (slightly faded and grading “6” out of a possible 10), along with 21 other signatures from the Brooklyn Dodgers, including Kiki Cuyler, Durocher, Fitzsimmons, Lavagetto, & more. Ball itself grades EX-MT with a cream-colored patina.
