1948 Babe Ruth and Ted Williams Wire Photograph
The great Ted Williams with the even greater Babe Ruth. Very few images of the two together exist. AP photo (9 x 7-1/8") with original paper caption on the verso. Ruth is seated in the front row of the stands, Williams' bat in his hands while Ted looks up at him with reverence through expressionistic chain link fence. EX+. Notice the Babe is smoking a cigar with evidence of surgical scar from throat cancer.
