1970 George Foreman vs. Aaron Eastling Fight Contracts

1970 George Foreman vs. Aaron Eastling Fight Contracts

Pair of fight contracts for a ten-round heavyweight bout between George Foreman and Aaron Eastling, scheduled to be held at the Cleveland Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 29, 1970. Each fighter has signed his own individual one-page contract for the bout, (each contract is between the respective fighter and promoter Don Elbaum), with the signatures grading 7/10 on average. As noted in each agreement, Foreman received $3,000, plus travel expenses for two, while Eastling received $1,250, plus travel expenses for two (not to exceed $20 per day). This bout against Eastling was Foreman's nineteenth career professional fight. He entered the fight undefeated and left it in similar fashion after defeating Eastling by TKO in the fourth round. Three years later, Foreman defeated Joe Frazier for the Heavyweight Championship and defended the title twice before losing it to Muhammad Ali in the famous "Rumble in the Jungle" bout. One of the most devastating punchers in boxing history, Foreman retired in his prime in 1977 before returning to the ring in 1987, when he began another successful ten-year run. He finished his career with a lifetime record of 76-5 and 68 knockouts. Each contract (8.5x14") displays three horizontal folds and a tiny stain at the base. In Excellent condition overall.
