The interior batting cage is where the Cardinals honed their swings to perfection. It’s a wonder that some of the balls smacked by McGwire didn’t totally dismantle it, but like the Cardinals, the cage is tough. It’s somehow comforting and at the same time discomforting to know that even those that made it to the top of their profession are bound by rules of some sort.
