Circa 1927 "Bambino" Tobacco Tin - Fine Specimen

Circa 1927 "Bambino" Tobacco Tin - Fine Specimen

Spectacular art deco design is one of the standard bearers of the classic baseball tobacco tins of the era. Likely dates from the 1927 era when the Babe was at the top of his game and perhaps the most famous man in America and the world. This “upright” tobacco tin was a typical entry into the aversion of Christy Walsh and his Syndicate which protected Babe Ruth from black marketeers such as this. Entitled, "Bambino" it sports a perfect rendition of the silhouette of the Babe. They somehow skirted from paying the necessary royalties and Babe Ruth was none the richer. This is one of the nicer ones you will ever see. Considered to be a high-grade example, as this tin is extremely tough to find "in condition". 8/10 condition-wise and therefore ever so excellent. Only minor rusting and brilliant color and enamel. One of the classic pieces of sports memorabilia in a condition to be proud of.
