Collection of Vintage Baseball Glass Plate Negatives and Slides

Collection of Vintage Baseball Glass Plate Negatives and Slides

Summoned from the bygone days of St. Louis Cardinal baseball, this large (130) assortment of slides, negatives and copy negs is all-glass, and is a glorious apparition from that franchise’s old stadium, the Sportsman’s Park, then shared with the American League’s St. Louis Browns, during the 1920’s and 30’s, when the Cardinals won three World Series titles. Some of these glass slides were used in projectors during this era, and emphasis is placed on the Park, with images of Cardinal players, Pittsburgh Pirates players, some Hall of Famers, in action and in position, with evocative B&W clarity. Beautiful images, including five glass negatives from the 1910 era of an anonymous woman, man and child donned in baseball garb.
