Baseball's first big-money free agent, Jim "Catfish" Hunter is all smiles in this original oil painting on canvas signed by the Hall of Fame right-handed ace. The artwork measures 24x30" and 32x38" in its frame. It is signed by Hunter in blue pen, and also signed "Robert Stephen Simon 87" on the bottom right. Hunter pitched for no fewer than five World Series championship teams over the course of his 15-year career, all within a seven-year span: three straight with the Oakland A's (1972-74) and two more with the Yankees (1977-78), the team which he represents in this painting.
