OAL (Budig) baseball is signed in black ballpoint by the man who gave up Roger Maris’ 61st homerun. Special story ball is from a signing of only 61 Gene Budig AL baseballs capturing his personal story of giving up Roger Maris’ 61st homerun on October 1, 1961. This has been written out entirely in his hand (taking up two panels and the sweet spot) and autographed personally by Tracy Stallard. Signature on side panel grades “9” out of a possible 10. Opposite panel displays the last end of the lengthy inscription, “Talked to Roger later and he thanked me for having the nerve to pitch to him.” Ball is Near Mint overall. LOA.
