Washington Senators Uniform Used In the Movie Damn Yankees
"Damn Yankees" was a Broadway hit musical in 1955, modernizing the Faust saga in a baseball setting. This vintage Washington Senators Flannel bears a Tim McAuliffe tag in the tail, size 48. The number "9" is on the reverse and a zipper on the front, just like the major league jerseys, except no chain-stitched name. The jersey is in NRMT condition. The storyline of "Damn Yankees" revolves around a Senators fan who sells his soul for a power hitter to help his team overcome the New York Yankees, who dominated the American League for decades.
