1892 Republican Campaign Attire

1892 Republican Campaign Attire

Your party needs you in 1892! Attire from the 1892 Republican National Convention held in Minneapolis features patriotic clothing that would suit Uncle Sam. Red and white pants, a blue shirt with small "Uncle Sam style" hats on it and a genuine hat with the American flag wrapped around the brim all worn at the convention. Incumbant President Benjamin Harrison was nominated for President with Whitelaw Reid as the pick for VP. Inside the hat is an original flyer with a photo of Harrision and Reid along with our flag and the Capitol building saying "Protect Home Industry." Harrison was defeated by Grover Cleveland, the man he deafeated to win the White House four years earlier. Clothing shows definite wear and aging but is a great piece of political history. VG-EX.
