A spectacular original glass plate negative, this originated from the Charles Percy Dana Studio, the preeminent boxing photographers of this era. The "Charles Conlon" of boxing photography, these 5x7" to 7x9" treasures represent the greatest find of their kind. The glass plate negative shows Jack Johnson training for the "Battle of the Century" against James J. Jeffries to become the first African American Heavyweight Champion of the World. Has scratch and minor soiling, overall EX condition.
