The Negro baseball leagues were formed in reaction to the ban of African-Americans from Major League baseball dating back to 1887. Broadside advertising the Chicago American Giants vs. the New Orleans Eagles printed in 1945. This was the year that Jackie Robinson signed with the Dodgers, marking the beginning of the end of the Negro Leagues. As advertised on broadside, the game took place in Sulphur Dell, Nashville, Tennessee. Cardboard is 14x20.5”. Slight wrinkling with a couple of very slight creases to edges. EX.
