Perfectly legible, it reads: “Dear Mr. Beirne, I am very sorry I will not be in the city to attend the sports dinner. I am leaving for Spring training before and I am sure you understand. Please give my regards to the other guest and I hope the dinner is a huge success. Sincerely, Jackie Robinson”. Written on Jackie Robinson stationary. Creased twice horizontally & once vertically. Comes with original Jackie Robinson mailing envelope addressed to Mack Beirne, Knights of Columbus. Letter & envelope are EX.
