Rare 1938 Louis vs Schmeling Autographed Souvenir
This beautiful 5.5x8" leather bound book features ceramic faces of Joe Louis and Max Schmeling, with a glove stitched into the center (hand painted white stitches on the glove). The first page is printed with, "Philadelphia Inquirer Party, World's Heavyweight Championship Match, Joe Louis, Max Schmeling, Yankee Stadium, New York, June 22, 1938". The inside "program" lists the guests invited from the Philadelphia Inquirer. The last page says "Autographs of Defender and Contestant World's Heavyweight Crown". Louis signed in black fountain pen, while Schmeling signed in blue fountain pen.
